AFTER ACTION REPORT

Charlotte Dunning School, Wednesday, June 24

Cpl. Brennan played host to Grenadiers Michael Graves, Rob Lee & Justin Murray, Light Infantry man Khalid Antar, Drummer Alexi Kraytman and Civilian Valerie Graves for their visit to the Charlotte Dunning School in Framingham, MA. The contingent presented to 78 fifth graders on their 3rd to last day of school! The students were engaged in learning about the role of an officer, women's roles, Light Infantry tactics, and Grenadier uniforms. They were entertained by the 35 count and a firing demonstration (and we were entertained by the Groovy Bus!)! Overall, it was a hot and successful day!

Thanks again to the group above, you made learning come alive for my fifth graders and that's an experience they are not soon to forget! My students are so lucky to have you volunteer your time to visit with them! Thanks again!!!!

Huzzah!

Why did you join the Regiment?
When I was about 10, I watched the 225th Reenactment of Lexington from a ladder and one thing stuck with me – the drums. The sound of the drums approaching the green from Mass Ave, the power of the Drums to stop the battle, and the look of the drums as they hung on the marching drummers. I wanted to be one of those drummers! Later that year, I joined the Middlesex County 4-H Fife and Drum Corps, I learned how to drum, I quickly met two drummers for the 10th who were on their way out, and next thing you know, I was the lead drummer for the 10th, and I haven’t looked back since!

What is your favorite thing about the Regiment?
Especially recently, there’s a true sense of “being in it together.” Friday nights setting up camp, Sunday afternoons taking down camp, and all the time in-between, we always seem to be there for each other.

What is your favorite memory of the Regiment?
This is a hard one, there are so many memories I have. My first long trip up to Fort Niagara, marching through the old streets of Quebec City, the first time we took over OSV, and recreating the sur-render at Yorktown are just a few. Through all that, my favorite memories have to be when at a reenactment, it’s just the 10th on the field. There’s no better feeling than being dismissed from the massed music to come back to the 10th right before we go off on our own!
